How Full of Faith Began
Full of Faith Christian Center is a nondenominational fellowship of believers — no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, and no name but Christian. We are a small, Christ-centered church family in Pomona, California, with a deep love for the Word of God, a heart for the inner city, and a calling to take the gospel wherever people are.
Full of Faith was born in October 1983 from home Bible studies led by Pastor William Mims Jr. in South Los Angeles. After years of fellowship and spiritual growth at Crenshaw Christian Center, Pastor Mims was led by the Spirit to begin teaching the Word in his home. What started as a small gathering grew into a church family committed to making disciples.
In those early years, Pastor Mims frequently held church services in various parks throughout South Los Angeles — welcoming the homeless, park visitors, and anyone who would come to hear the gospel. Along with worship and the Word, the church freely distributed food, clothing, and personal necessities.
In January 1994, following the Lord’s leading, Pastor Mims moved the church to the Inland Empire, planting Full of Faith Christian Center in Pomona. The outreach ministry that defined the early years has continued here, with services at Garfield, Ganesha, Frank G. Bonelli, and Washington Parks.

Founded in South Los Angeles
Pastor William Mims Jr. begins teaching the Word in his home in South LA, gathering a small community of believers hungry for Scripture.
Park Ministry & Outreach Era
Church services held in parks across South LA. Food, clothing, and the gospel freely given to the homeless and community. Living out Matthew 10:8.
Planted in Pomona, California
Following God's leading, the church relocates to the Inland Empire. The City of Pomona opens its arms and the congregation finds a new home.
Growing & Coalition Partnership
Full of Faith joins a Coalition of Churches with several Pomona congregations across denominations, reflecting unity in the Body of Christ.
New Leadership Ordained
Associate Pastor Percy Starks III is ordained on August 27, 2023, deepening the pastoral team's capacity to serve and disciple.
Sunday Worship + Online Reach
Weekly in-person Sunday service at 10:00 AM, Friday Night Bible Study via Zoom, and an active online presence reaching beyond Pomona.

Senior Pastor
Pastor William Mims Jr.
Pastor Mims came to California from Memphis, Tennessee to study architecture, but God had a different blueprint. Called to ministry in 1983 under Dr. Frederick K.C. Price’s leadership, he founded Full of Faith and has shepherded the church for over 40 years. Married to First Lady Shirley Mims; proud father and grandfather.

Associate Pastor
Associate Pastor Byron Dredd
Married to Melissa and proud father, Byron serves with a deep desire to see people become wholehearted followers of Jesus. His preaching consistently points back to the cross and the new life offered in Christ — surrendered soldiers living as ambassadors of hope.

Associate Pastor Percy Starks III
Ordained August 27, 2023, Percy came to Christ on January 8, 2023. A member since 2014, married to Miriam for 31 years and father of four sons. With a special heart for men, Percy’s goal is to align his life — and help others align theirs — with God’s design for purpose and calling.
